The Software Engineering degree for 21st Century
Learn: In the morning, we cover theory by delving into concepts on a new topic for the day. We primarily use whiteboard for teaching.
Practical: We give them exercises to work on next, and start doing it in the class itself. They write algorithms first for the exercises given, not just code.
Assignments: Daily students are given assignments which they need to work on and submit before next day is over. Each assignment is designed keeping current industry requirements and that requires in-depth knowledge of concepts covered.
Lunch: Students bring their lunch box and relax over lunch with classmates, faculty and staff. Also, dozens of lunch points near by serve delicious dishes to suit the variety and pocket.
Live Coding: Students will be doing live coding by projecting their code. Other students participate actively by throwing up questions. It is an interactive sport where everyone would learn.
Events: The program covers variety of events - courses, workshops, seminars, code bites, short bites, presentations etc. Guest lectures speak on variety of topics in their work area. Students attend meetups and participate actively. Mock interviews are a different kind of experience our students enjoy here. Songs and dances to get them in tune with natural life is a different kind of experience one can not imagine. It is a life here that our students live in, not just a typical course.
Team Work: Students will work as a team on few projects. This exercise brings them closer to each other, understand each other's strengths and collaborate effectively for team success.
Projects: Every student is expected to complete a project independently and through complete SDLC cycle. Student should submit - Requirements specification, Design Specification and Code along with course work. Students work on projects in the area of their interest - web applications, salesforce apps, Apps using NFC, mobile Apps, rich enterprise applications, tools, etc.
Grades: At anytime, students can see their attendance, grades, assignments submitted, due dates for upcoming assignments and assessment tests, announcements, etc.
